Independent’s Freshers Week is packed full of exciting and engaging activities and social events, a kind of introduction to some of the leisure activities Sunderland has to offer.

These are the only two places you will find our wristbands for sale, you might find the event listed on other sites such as Sunderland Students’ Union website but it will always link back to one of the two above sites to buy your ticket. If you’re unsure, send us an email.

Official collection point is the Students Union, Edinburgh Building, City Campus on Sunday 17th and Monday 18th from 9am-5pm. If you’re arriving early and want to cash in on free entry to Independent on Friday and Saturday you can collect your wristband on the night from 10pm.

All of our Freshers events listed on this site are included in the wristband. Head to the What’s On page for the full list of club events, bowling day, activities and restaurant/bar discounts for the week.

Although entry for all events is included with wristbands, entry is not guaranteed as the venues have set capacities and are open to people paying on the door as well as wristband holders. Check individual venues’ entry policies, but most of the events have wristband holders only happy hours for guaranteed entry and drinks deals, for club events at Independent we recommend getting down early to secure your spot.
